Fall in love like a video game
When I was in college, I took on a host of freelance writing gigs—the most notable being a ghostwriting and narrative design job for a game studio called Hanabi Media.
There, I created 2 dating sims (Ghost Love and Heartstrings), published on mobile platforms for a young, predominantly female audience.
I had the opportunity to pitch the games’ premises, design the narratives using preset structures, and write chapter scripts. I also designed the characters myself, which the artists interpreted into their final sprites.
Together, the games earned over 600,000 downloads total on the Google Play store (though Ghost Love has since been removed).
